Fall
Foliage Flights in
"The
Quiet Corner of Connecticut"
(Northeastern Connecticut)
(Last updated on
June 15, 2007)
We offer Hot Air Balloon Rides during the peak Fall Foliage
season time in the Northeastern section of Connecticut called "The Quiet
Corner". During this time many of the local towns have craft fairs, walking
weekends, harvest festivals, Apple festivals, town fairs and other local events,
attracting fall foliage color watchers (sometimes called leaf
peepers) to the area. Mother nature is not always on time with this
season, but generally occurs in northeastern Connecticut mid September to
mid/end of October. During this time we team up with other pilots and balloon
ride operators and try to all fly in the same area. Although this is technically
not an organized festival, we sometimes get several balloons up in the air at
the same time to add that festival feel and color to an already beautiful time
of the year.
Fall is the busiest time of year for Hot
Air Balloon Ride operations everywhere and many of us are already scheduling
flights for Fall 2007 already. In the Fall we make an extra effort to fly on
week days too to accommodate passengers and weather conditions. Many of the
pilots frequently have waiting lists of passengers hoping for a cancellation, so
our advice is to schedule early for these weekends.
