September 12, 2004 - Sunday - PM Flight

The last flight on Sunday PM from the Northampton Airport was a balloonists, and crew persons, dream. A gentle west wind took us east over the Connecticut River again towards U-Mass Amherst. The flight track generally followed Route 9 where balloonists and chase crews could all watch each other along the flight making it just as festive on the ground as in the air. About 18 balloons flew in a large pack over farmlands to landing sites leading up to the campus of U-Mass.
