Sunday, September 26, 2004 - Tony & Genevieve - PM Flight
Tony & Genevieve's evening flight in a Hot Air Balloon.
This was a wonderful way to end a magnificent Fall weekend as we drifted over
the country side with 2 other Hot Air Balloon crews. We all departed from a
private air strip in Woodstock, CT and flew southeast into Pomfret. From our
highest altitude of 3,600 feet we could just make out the skyline of Boston, MA
and Providence, RI. Later we flew just above the tree tops and picked tree
leaves from the tree tops. We landed in a field in Pomfret with another Hot Air
Balloon. After the flight we enjoyed our traditional champagne toast with the 2
other balloon crews and watched the sun set. Our flight covered 5.6 miles in 1
hour and 12 minuets. Our highest altitude was 3,600 feet above seal level and
our lowest altitude was about 12 feet below the tree tops.
